Raffles World Academy, Sharjah has been officially opened at Aljada, becoming the second school to open in the UAE’s fastest-growing mixed-use community. The new international school, which has capacity for 2,000 students, welcomed its first pupils in August at the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.

The inauguration ceremony, held on the morning of Tuesday 8 September, included a ribbon-cutting at the primary school building, a Ghaf tree-planting ceremony, a felicitation in the KG gym and a tour of the campus.

The event was attended by Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, Khalifa Al Shaibani, Board Director of Arada, Rosa Piro, Chief Investment Officer of Arada, and Poonam Bhojani, CEO of Innoventures Education and alongside the school’s founding leadership team.

Developed in partnership with Innoventures Education, Raffles World Academy, Sharjah initially welcomes pupils from pre-K to Grade 8 and will expand year on year to Grade 12. The school offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) pathway, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP), alongside the US High School Diploma in the senior years.

Located on a 480,000 square foot plot on West Boulevard, the second major street within the Aljada master plan, in the north-west corner of the community, the campus was built under an AED128 million construction contract awarded to Sharjah-based Al Rehab Al Arabi Building Contracting Co. LLC.

Facilities at the new campus include two swimming pools, a full-size football pitch, athletics track and pit, climate-controlled gymnasiums, basketball and tennis courts, dedicated learning studios, a large auditorium and a modern library.

Spanning 24 million square feet, Aljada is Sharjah’s largest project to date and includes residential districts alongside hospitality, entertainment, retail, sporting, educational and healthcare facilities, as well as Sharjah’s new commercial hub, Arada Central Business District (CBD), all within a walkable, green community.
