Arada ranked as top real estate workplace in the UAE following latest Great Place to Work® survey

News: 21 March 2023
  • Developer named 17th best place to work in the large companies category
  • People-focused approach results in jump in rankings over past year

Arada has been listed as the best workplace in the real estate sector in the UAE following a comprehensive survey by Great Place To Work®. The developer, which prides itself on its powerful people-centric culture, has improved significantly since last year’s ranking, jumping from 47th in the Small and Medium Organizations category to 17th in the Large Organizations category.

The youngest company in the rankings, Arada joins a select group of corporates certified as a Great Place to Work®, which this year included established multinationals such as McDonald’s, Hilton and DHL Express in the same category.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: “Since its launch in 2017, Arada has grown to become the region’s most progressive new developer based not just on our forward-thinking communities and exceptional track record but also on our primary asset; an incredible talent pool of more than 650 staff drawn from 47 countries around the world. We’re delighted to have received this accolade and look forward to improving our position even further next year.”

Mohit Menon, Senior Director HR, Arada, said: “Our teams have worked tirelessly to improve the employee experience at Arada and engage our talent pool based on our core principles of dynamism, delivery and care. Those efforts have paid off, with 89% of employees considering Arada as a Great Place to Work® survey, making us the top real estate company to work for in the UAE in what is a very competitive field.”

Among the initiatives that Arada has introduced are a transparent and robust automated performance management process that focuses on developing talent; a detailed Employee Nurture Program to welcome new joiners; quarterly focus groups; a new channel that allows employees to share grievances in a transparent and confidential manner; and the provision of free access to the LinkedIn Learning platform, which contains thousands of online courses, for all employees.

Arada’s commitment to a strong work-life balance was also underlined by a decision to introduce a 4.5-day working week in January 2022, making it one of the first private-sector companies in the UAE to follow the federal government’s lead.

Arada has introduced wellness programmes to support the holistic health of its workforce, is providing free gym memberships for all employees and has a calendar of activities designed to improve synergies and foster team building.

Great Place to Work® is recognised as the global authority on workplace culture and leads the industry with the most rigorous, data-based model for quantifying employee experience. Since 1992, GPTW has surveyed over 100 million employees around the world and analysed the deep insights that define what makes a great workplace.
