News: 6 December 2017

The Aljada development is due to bring a host of restaurants, entertainment, schools and, importantly, walkable streets to Sharjah, and residents are enthused about the prospect

The Aljada development is to be built over an area exceeding 2.2 square kilometres and was unveiled on Wednesday by Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah.

Ibrahim Younis, 43, hailed the new development as a step in the right direction. “It will certainly add a fresh supply of housing options for Sharjah residents, and also enrich the city’s offering in terms of retail and shopping. I believe Aljada will present Sharjah residents with multiple options to suit their needs and requirements,” he said.

Tanya Rudenscky, a 38-year-old Russian mother of two boys aged 14 and 11, was happy with Aljada’s entertainment facility, the Central Hub, which will include a musical fountain and children’s adventure and discovery complexes.

“Once this project is complete, I will no longer have to go to other emirates on the weekend to seek leisure options for my sons, who are no longer entertained with a small play area in a mall,” she said.

“I am not very pleased with my current living quarters, a small apartment in an old building, and the only reason I chose to live there is because it is opposite a public park, which means my children have a safe place to play.“

This new project will definitely bring a welcome change to parents like myself who are looking for a safe and hospitable location to raise their kids.”

The project, which will commence construction in the first quarter of next year and will be delivered over several phases, combines residential options, retail and shopping outlets, sport amenities and modern facilities.
