News: 1 September 2020

Sharjah’s only drive-in cinema adds double bills from Friday 4 September, having attracted more than 10,000 visitors in just two months

Movie Nights at Aljada is introducing back-to-back screenings to keep up with demand at Sharjah’s only drive-in cinema. A double bill will now be screened every Friday evening, starting on 4 September with the screening of kids cartoon favourite The Queen’s Corgi at 8pm, followed by the showing of sci-fi classic The Matrix at 11pm.

On Friday 11 September, the cinema will show children’s favourite The Incredibles at 8pm, followed by a screening of the 90s comedy thriller True Lies, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Since opening on 1 July, the cinema has welcomed more than 10,000 movie-goers, with weekend evenings proving especially busy.

Other films being screened at Movie Nights at Aljada over the course of the next week include cult 80s classic Back to the Future, rom-com Sweet Home Alabama and, on Saturday 12 September, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first in the eight-strong series of epic wizarding adventures.

All movies at the drive-in cinema at Madar at Aljada, Muwaileh, Sharjah, start at 8pm and are free to enter on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cinemagoers can also select from the 17 different types of delicious cuisine at Zad either by visiting the drive-thru prior to entering the cinema, or by ordering via the dedicated website and the meals will be delivered directly to their cars in a safe and contactless manner.
