News: 20 June 2019

An executive from Arada’s leadership team has highlighted the importance of smart technology and sustainability with regard to future development trends in the UAE at a major forum held recently in Dubai.

Elie Mrad, Arada’s Head of Architecture and Design, was speaking during the Leaders in Architecture MENA Summit, which took place on 18-19 June at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City.

Mrad’s session, entitled ‘Developer Outlook’, considered a number of trends facing the local market, including the shift from transaction to experience, new styles of living, data collection and what the sector is likely to look like post 2020. The Arada executive also highlighted the next generation of designers and architects currently being developed by the sector.

“Implementing smart technology into Arada’s communities will provide us as a developer with an immense amount of data which will help us to understand how the community is being used by residents and visitors, and allow us to make continual improvements to daily lives,” Mrad said during the session.

The next generation of developers are already working in my team. I’m proud to say we have hired some of the youngest talent in the country, and I also have several interns from American University of Sharjah and University of Sharjah working with us right now.”

Other speakers on the panel included Muhammad BinGhatti, CEO and Head of Architecture at Binghatti Holding, Sameh Muhtadi, CEO of Bloom Holding and Baharash Bagherian, Head of Urban Planning at Diamond Developers. The session was moderated by Alida Bata, Assistant Professor of Architecture at Heriot Watt University Dubai.
